The altar may be the most important place and the place of highest privilege in the church. Pastors and ministers deliver God’s message with spiritual authority. From that perspective, worship ministry also holds that great privilege, and also the responsibility of preparing the spiritual atmosphere of the church so that each person’s heart and spirit be prepared to receive the Word.
WORSHIP MINISTRY IS MUCH MORE THAN KNOWING HOW TO SING OR PLAY AND INSTRUMENT
It is a calling from God to lead the people into genuine worship. It is only when the value of this calling is acknowledged will you be able to see how the worship time in each meeting causes chains of oppression to be broken. You will begin to see healing, restoration, and miracles in every area of life. In order for this to happen, it is important that each worship ministry have a weekly devotional time, to study the Word and pray.
I would like to share with every worship leader three tips that will be a great blessing as you begin to plan the devotional time for your worship team:
1. RHEMA WORD
In order to transmit the right message to the worship ministry, it is important to be connected to the heart of the pastors, because it is through them that the same spirit is shared to the church. Evaluate the challenges and the goals that you are conquering as a church. It may be a movement of fasting, prayer, or miracles. Focus your message on the direction the church is moving in at that time.
2. AWAKEN THE LEADERSHIP IN EACH MINISTRY
The word that is taught has to motivate the musicians to develop their leadership within the church. Every one of them has a calling to influence their family, the people they go to school with, the people they work with, and the people in their city. This is why the message should inspire, it should help them receive the Vision and exercise an exemplary leadership at all times.
3. PRACTICAL MESSAGE
In Hebrews 4:12 we see how the Word of God is alive and effective. This means that when it is revealed to a person’s heart, it has the power drive them to action. It is important that the teaching that is transmitted to the worship team be clear, so they can easily put it into practice.
Speak specifically about how they can move closer every day into being more sensitive to God’s movement, how they can take their calling to a new level, and how they can minister to the church in an effective way and lead them into victory..
