Many people come to Jesus to simply receive His benefits or because they need a miracle. It is true that God gives us promises and that He always promises the best for His children. However, we must ask ourselves, ‘How much do I love Jesus?
1 Corinthians 13 speaks about the virtues of love. We can clearly see Jesus’ teaching reflected when it says, “love never fails;” this is something we need to keep in our minds and hearts day after day so that our lives do not become like that resounding gong – a picture the Bible uses to describe us if we do not have love in us. If Jesus died for humanity because He loves us, how can we not spend every moment of our lives loving Him? What is more, how can we not then love our neighbor, despite the mistakes they may make?
This series will allow each one of us, as believers of the Word and the love of Christ, to follow the example the Lord left us, as well as understanding that for those who are in Him, all things are possible. “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13).
In the Christian life, it is important to understand that following Jesus means leaving everything for Him, just as He gave everything, even His life, so that we could have eternal life. We need to be truly born again and understand that a real disciple is someone who is committed to Jesus. This is why, as disciples, we are committed to studying the Word, praying and being faithful in our church.
Remember that God loves you and has the best for you. Do not forget that He is inviting you to know Him personally.
