Here I am, Send me!

It is time for us to lift up our voices and proclaim that there is hope for this generation. What is more, it is our privilege to do so!

Throughout history, we see that those who took hold of the opportunities they were given were often able to bring about incredible change – changes that made history and transformed people groups – even entire nations. Not only are young people in today’s society more daring, when they have a sense of conviction, they also show great passion for a cause and pour their efforts into pursuing their goals. Unfortunately, the minds of many have become confused and, as the Word says, they “call evil good, and good evil.” However, there are many young people who are speaking up and swimming against the tide because they know that they have been called to share His message. They know that they have been chosen to speak up as the voice of God in this world.

But how?

God is a God of opportunities. During our recent youth conference, every young person was able to come face to face with our great God. Knowing God has changed their lives, and their personal experience of Him is what is motivating them to be a voice in this generation – a voice that tells those around them about a God who is real. They are able to speak about the God who now lives inside of them, not just a God they have heard about from others. Whenever they make the most of an opportunity to speak up for Him, they will see how God uses them to bring about change. And when change happens, history is made.

Young people today

During the conference, we realized that our young people are no longer asking, “Why me?” They have realized that fulfilling the purpose of God is an incredible opportunity, and they are taking it on with passion, energy and faith. They are now conquering their dreams because they have surrendered them into the hands of the One who, more than anyone else, wants to make them a reality.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

Our best strategy

Our best strategy is being living examples of the gospel and speaking to others with both love and assurance about the need of every person to know their Savior. Our testimony is a powerful weapon and we should make the most of every opportunity we have to speak up and share the gospel, being eager to help those who need to hear it. What a privilege it is to be part of those who are proclaiming the Word of God to this generation!
